the water nicely blue and not so salt. however to many jelly fish.

yesterday we went to the last ottoman palace built before the turks took over.

instanbul: the city of.. eur... cats!

derya did not tell me this before, but apparently istanbul is notorious for its stray cats. here are some we made friends with last night. (i was in heaven)

i'm no longer in africa. i arrived yesterday afternoon to the open arms of my friend derya and sardar at the instanbul airport. it's beautiful and hot here. derya's parents live in a "cozy" three level villa right on the sea in the out skirts of the city. i awoke this morning at 6am to the chanting of the mosque right behind us. this happens 5 times a day and done through very very vwery large and lourd speakers.

i didn't get much of chance to use the internet while i was in africa so i've uploaded a bunch of photos from the last two weeks.

only in the corporate cola industry would
someone manage to get away with such
delightful absurdity.

californiaaaaaaaaaa.

some of these are from julie's camera. we spent 4 days and 3 nights in LA. the first night we stayed a cheap motel on sunset blvd. the four of us got 'buck wild' and met up with some friends at sarfari sam's. they had pints of PBR for 3.25$ tony and i went wild.. the next few days were spent at my mom's friends house in glendora. on my birthday we went to six flags for the day and managed to do 16 rides in 5 hours...later that night jaime took all us out for a birthday dinner to Sergio's (one of my favourite mexican restaurants) the weather never got very warm and by the time we got to venice beach on friday we were in pants and sweaters... tony finally got to use his surf board for the first time, however there wasn't much swell...
